About

Where art, health,and the human
experience meet.

Mission

Lūmen is a multidisciplinary cultural platform exploring the relationship between art, health, and the human experience.

Through films, conversations, live gatherings, exhibitions, and education, Lūmen brings research, lived experience, and cultural knowledge into public conversation — making visible the role creativity plays in how we process emotion, build community, preserve culture, and remain connected to what makes us human.

We work at the intersection of creative practice and holistic health, translating what is already known into experiences that meet people where they live.

Tenets

  • 01

    Evidence

We begin from research — clinical, anthropological, historical — and treat it with the same care we give to story.

  • 02

    Lived experience

Studies are not enough. We make room for the witness, the practitioner, the grieving, the joyful.

  • 03

    Cultural memory

What our ancestors knew about ritual, song, and image is part of the evidence. We listen across time.

  • 04

    Public conversation

Insight that stays in the journal does not heal anyone. The work belongs in the open air.

A note from the founder

“I started Lūmen because I kept seeing the connection between art, health, and the way we live—and I knew the conversation needed a place to begin. As a working artist of more than twenty years and someone deeply rooted in holistic health, I felt called to connect those worlds. Art is not adjacent to health. It is one of the oldest instruments we have for staying well, staying together, and staying human.”
